Traditionally, Valentine's Day is our busiest day of the year. We allow
diners 2½ hours which in previous years has proved to be
more than adequate. In order to ensure smooth running we only take
2 seater advanced booked tables - sorry no children on this one
occasion. Falling on a Sunday this year, it's quite likely that we will get
both afternoon and evening bookings. This year we are taking bookings
from 12 noon through to 11pm.
Following on from the success of recent years we are continuing with
a set price 2 course menu (starter/main or main/dessert at £15.95 per head) or 3 course menu ( £20.95 per head)
with a selection of 13 dishes per course (good selection for
vegans). We found that with a smaller menu, diners were in a position to
order within a shorter timescale - bill production was also a lot faster as
apart from the set price we only need to keep account of drinks and
sundries.
Prices remain unchanged from last year. However, in view
of the increasing number of last minute cancellations and 'no shows' in
recent years we introduced a booking deposit in 2009. This worked
extremely well and is currently set at £5 per head which is
deducted from the bill.
